Pharmacy Council Ghana has reportedly arrested Makafui Precious Fella, a social media influencer and actress for allegedly selling unregistered drugs
She was taken into custody on May 22, 2024, for her involvement in the unlawful sale of unregistered drugs. This arrest marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade and the dissemination of misleading health information on social media platforms.
The operation was the culmination of six months of painstaking surveillance by Akwasi Koranteng and his team of undercover investigative journalists from ISPYGH 247. Their thorough investigation focused on Fella’s activities on TikTok and Instagram, where she frequently posted about various products.
The team collected substantial evidence of her illegal dealings, which included the sale of unregistered drugs, false advertising, and the publication of advertisements not approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
