Ghanaian musician D-Black has described the fake UN Awards organized by the famous Dr. UN as nonsense but well crafted to lure him and other prominent figures

Approximately three years have passed since the now-infamous ‘Dr. UN Awards’ event took place, during which several prominent Ghanaian figures, including the musician and entrepreneur Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, widely known as D-Black, were supposedly ‘celebrated.’

This event, named the Global Blueprint Excellence Award, was conceived by an individual named Kwame Owusu Fordjour, commonly referred to as Dr. UN. However, it was subsequently revealed to be a fraudulent operation.

Even today, D-Black remains astonished that he was ensnared by this deceptive scheme, which subjected him to ridicule on various social media platforms. Reflecting on this incident, D-Black expressed his disbelief and disappointment.

He recalled how, during the eleven years he dedicated to building his business empire, he diligently avoided any form of controversy. Regrettably, two unexpected scandals unfolded in quick succession, with the sham UN Award being the pinnacle.

D-Black elaborated on the challenges he faced, stating,

I haven’t had drama in the first 11 years of my career. It was always the music, but these two happened back-to-back, and the Dr. UN one was incredibly stupid. I can’t believe I fell for that nonsense. If you saw the email, you would have fallen for it. Very well written,” he said.

In hindsight, the Afrobeat musician couldn’t help but chuckle at his initial enthusiasm. His deep passion for his music likely made the prospect of receiving recognition for his tireless efforts too enticing to resist.
