Ghanaian students learn AI robotics and coding through new STEMAIDE STEM kits

Ghanaian education technology company STEMAIDE has launched four new learning kits designed to equip students with practical skills in coding, artificial intelligence, robotics, aviation and engineering.

The new products were unveiled in Accra as part of efforts to strengthen practical STEM education and encourage young learners to move beyond consuming technology to developing their own solutions.

According to the Ghana News Agency, the initiative is aimed at helping students build technical capacity, develop curiosity and prepare for future careers in science and technology.

Four new STEM kits target different age groups

STEMAIDE introduced four products targeting learners at different stages of education.

The Coder Pro Kit is designed for senior high school students and focuses on computer science and coding.

For students in technical and vocational education and training (TVET), the company launched the Pilot Kit, which introduces learners to concepts related to aerospace and aviation engineering.

University students are targeted with the Aider Kit, which supports the use of artificial intelligence in academic work and innovation projects.

For younger learners at the basic school level, the Rover Kit introduces engineering and robotics through practical experimentation with movement and technology.

STEMAIDE Chief Executive Officer Prince Boateng Asare said the new products were developed to complement classroom theory with practical learning.

The company believes students need access to tools that allow them to experiment, build and test ideas rather than simply learn concepts from textbooks.

The approach is intended to help young people develop the technical confidence needed to pursue STEM-related careers and entrepreneurship opportunities.

AI and robotics take centre stage

Artificial intelligence and robotics are becoming increasingly important areas of education as technology changes the nature of work globally.

STEMAIDE’s latest products introduce these areas to students at different stages of their education, potentially allowing them to develop technology skills from an earlier age.

The Aider Kit, in particular, is designed to help university students incorporate AI into academic and innovation projects.

STEMAIDE says its programmes have already reached more than 25,000 learners across seven African countries since the company was founded in 2022.

At the event, Priscilla Hope, Project Manager at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, emphasised the importance of developing human capacity alongside technological advancement.

She noted the need to move young Africans from being primarily technology consumers to becoming creators who can develop solutions for local challenges.

That message aligns closely with the practical approach behind STEMAIDE’s new learning kits.
