Following his dismissal, Mr. Osafo-Maafo has been directed to immediately hand over his responsibilities to the Acting Director General of the NCA. This transition is expected to ensure continuity in the authority’s cyber security operations as a new permanent appointment is considered.
In accordance with the terms outlined in paragraph 8 of his appointment letter, Osafo-Maafo will receive three months’ salary in lieu of notice. This provision serves as part of his severance package, ensuring a smooth exit process in line with employment policies.
Minister Sam George expressed gratitude to the outgoing director for his service to the nation, acknowledging his contributions during his tenure.
