Electricity Company of Ghana assures the public that it has stable National Grid and that current Dumsor is as a result of localized fault.
Citing localized faults as the cause of specific power outages in certain areas, the ECG encourages customers to promptly report such instances for swift resolution.
The Electricity Company of Ghana has recently faced backlash and criticism the public for its incessant power outages Accra and some parts of the country without planned schedule. Following the backlash, the ECG announces that power outages is as ‘result of localized faults’ and that ECG has ‘stable national grid’.

On the backdrop of this have many requested that the power provider furnishes Ghanaians with what is notably known as ‘Dumsor’ timetable for citizens to plan their lives like was done in the time of Former President John Mahama but these calls for a timetable have yielded no results.
In similar reports, the Energy Minister when asked responded in what many describe as disrespectful when he mentioned that anybody that wants a timetable should go bring their own timetable. His remarks sparked anger among the populace and business owners alike.
Responding to an inquiry from the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) regarding power outage records for the current year, the ECG disclosed issuing over 100 notifications within the initial two and a half months of the year, primarily attributing them to scheduled maintenance activities.
