Failure to honour payment of bills by new telecommunications network Telecel Ghana to has compelled Telecommunication Tower company, ATC Ghana to cut power supply to several tower stations operated by Telecel Ghana across the country.

Telecel Ghana, a new entrant into the telecommunications industry has been slammed by many of its users for poor service.

Among the challenges faced by Telecel Ghana upon entry was the network outage that hit the country and some parts of Africa due to undersea cables being compromised.

Background to Telecel Ghana and ATC Ghana Brouhaha

 According to the telecommunication Tower company ATC,  ‘failed negotiations and notification to the National Communications Authority (NCA) has necessitated its decision.

In a statement, ATC expressed regret over the disruption, however attributed the disruption to the non-payment of certain fees needed to purchase electricity and diesel to sustain Telecel’s equipment on their tower sites.
