Social media commentator, Afia Schwarzenegger has been reportedly sentenced to a 10-day jail term with hard labour by a High Court in Tema.
Chairman Wontumi, NPP Ashanti regional chairman sued Afia Schwarzenegger for defamation following a televised show on UTV hosted by Nana Ama McBrown where the convict is believed to have defamed Chairman Wontumi.
Afia Schwarzenegger commented on the UTV’s United Showbiz show and accused the Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party for having a sexual affair with him which was subsequently denied by Wontumi.
The accused Ashanti regional Chairman who was infuriated consequently filed a law suit dragging Afia Schwarzenegger, Nana Ama McBrown (host of the United Showbiz) and panelists Mr. Logic and Kwame A-Plus to court for contempt.
The Tema High Court ruled on Thursday December 1, convicting and sentencing the Ghanaian socialite, Afia Schwarzenegger for contempt and to serve a 10-day jail term with hard labour.
Reports also indicate that the High court further charged Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame A Plus, and Mr. Logic for contempt of court and to be slapped with a GHC60,000 fine each.
