Ghana’s Vice President and presidential hopeful representing the ruling government, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, recently engaged in discussions with renowned British actor Idris Elba to advance Ghana’s digitization agenda within the creative sector.
Their dialogue centered on enhancing financial inclusion and digitization within Ghana’s creative arts industry while devising integration strategies.
Their shared vision entails connecting Ghana’s creative arts economy to the global financial ecosystem, ensuring equitable compensation for Ghanaian creatives for the commercial use of their music and arts worldwide.
Vice President Dr. Bawumia opined that, many African industry players are locked out of the global payments ecosystem, indicating that the “implementation of a new system leveraging blockchain technology” to assist creatives cannot be overemphasized.
Vice President Dr Bawumia in his Facebook post, amongst other things, that “our focus was on the financial inclusion of Ghanaian creative arts and devising strategies to integrate them into the worldwide financial ecosystem.”
