Ghanaian musician, Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie, has addressed the allegations made by actress Yvonne Nelson regarding their past relationship and the controversial abortion issue
Yvonne Nelson recently revealed in her memoir, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,‘ that she had a romantic involvement with Sarkodie in 2010, resulting in a pregnancy.
In Chapter 8 of her book, Nelson recounts her decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Sarkodie’s refusal to take responsibility.
She also discovered that Sarkodie had another girlfriend studying abroad, which further influenced her decision.
However, in his newly released track titled “Try Me,” Sarkodie denies ever encouraging Nelson to have an abortion. While admitting that he wasn’t prepared to become a father, he claims to have advised her to keep the pregnancy.
According to him, Nelson chose to proceed with the abortion because of her ongoing studies at the time.
Sarkodie asserts, “So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” in his song “Try Me.” He also suggests that there were certain aspects of their past that he intended to keep private, indicating that the abortion could have remained undisclosed.
Despite this, he acknowledges Nelson’s bravery in sharing her story but asserts that she cannot selectively choose what to disclose to the world.
Additionally, Sarkodie advises Nelson not to portray herself as a victim or give the impression that she was seeking love. He cautions, “Baby girl, make you no try me.”
