In an interesting turn of events, the management of Accra International Conference Centre has suddenly reversed their position on blocking Anas Aremeyaw Anas from using the AICC facility to premiere a documentary titled ‘Galamsey Economy’.

The investigative journalist had earlier grumbled and expressed his disappointment in a series of tweets on Twitter and released a press statement following their attention to the blockade and assured Ghanaians who had purchased tickets to exercise restraint as they looked for a new venue.
Few hours later, the AICC also released a rejoinder debunking the claims that their decision to prevent Anas and the Tiger Eye PI team was not politically motivated and reassuring the public of allowing the premiering of the documentary as scheduled earlier (14th-15th November 2022) Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The matter has been resolved. We have made contact with the organizers and the event is expected to come off as scheduled,” portions of the presser stated. Director of Accra International Conference Centre, . Vivian K.A Asempapa’s statement read
Ghanaians have been left in shock as these interesting events unfold. Some twitter users however have attributed the AICC’s new decision to the public backlash and criticism which compelled management to allow Anas.
