Minister for the Interior Ghana Henry Quartey has announced that ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ 5 as Public holiday, coming on the behest of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo .
The Ministry in its Press Release on its website mentioned that the holiday falls on Sunday August 4, hence moving it to Monday and marks Foundersโ Day which is a Statutory Public Holiday.

However, in view of the fact that 4th August 2024 falls on a Sunday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 5th August 2024 as an additional Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
