The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has informed the court that the bank account belonging to a deceased sibling of the former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, remains active

This revelation, as per a myjoyonline news report, is supported by documentation presented by the OSP in court. These documents reveal that despite the account’s supposed inactivity, it recently transferred funds to the former minister.

Analysis of the statements in the first respondent’s (Cecilia Dapaah) bank account revealed highly suspicious transactions involving the name of the first respondent’s deceased brother, Nana Akwasi Essan.

In specific instances, as cited in the report, transactions took place on September 19, 2022, and May 23, where sums of ¢10,450 and ¢11,280, respectively, were transferred from the deceased brother’s account to Cecilia Dapaah, who is the first respondent in this case.

The said Nana Akwasi Essan died in January 2022 and there is no record domiciled at the financial institutions of probate or letters of administration granted to personal representatives). Strangely, there are active transfers from the deceased person’s bank account to that of the first respondent’s account, some documents filed reveal according to Joy news

Further details outlined in the exclusive documents obtained by JoyNews indicate that Cecilia Dapaah possesses a substantial amount of cedis in her accounts. However, she faces the challenge of substantiating the sources of these funds, as no concrete evidence has been provided thus far.
