National Democratic Congress is finally outdooring Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for John Mahama in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Former President John Mahama has once again chosen her as his running mate and his choice has been praised by Ghanaians in general and political analysts as the best move.

Opoku-Agyemang made history as the first female running mate for one of Ghana’s two major political parties when she was selected for the 2020 election. Her selection was widely praised by women’s groups and activists as a step toward promoting gender equality and balance in Ghanaian politics.

Her campaign emphasized the importance of change and sustainable development, focusing on practical, youth-centered policies. She refrained from attacking opponents during her campaign, instead focusing on issues that resonate with the people of Ghana. Her efforts in coastal communities and her home region, the Central Region, paid off as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured significant victories in areas they had previously lost in the 2016 elections.
