The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly denounced recent verbal attacks on former President John Agyekum Kufuor by Dela Edem, an aide to former President John Mahama and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ghanaians generally have slammed the Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor for his support for torch bearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr Mahamudu Bawumia despite failing economic conditions in the country which he touted himself as economic wizkid.  Edem’s remarks, made during a TV appearance, labeled Kufuor as “evil” and suggested his health challenges were a curse.

The NPP criticized John Mahama for his silence, urging him to discipline his aide and publicly apologize to Kufuor. They asserted that Mahama’s inaction undermines respectful political engagement in the country.

The party highlighted its commitment to fostering civility and unity in Ghana’s politics, calling on all political players to reject personal attacks. “This behavior should not be condoned at any level of leadership,” Nana Boakye added.
