Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Trade and Industry Minister, is the preferred choice to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s upcoming flagbearership contest.
This may not come as a surprise to Ghanaians and even to some party faithfuls as the economic conditions have made the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia unpopular, hindering his chances of leading the party and the country.
The survey did not leave out Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, who is regarded as another candidate to reckon with in the NPP’s flagbearership contest.
Kennedy Agyapong is the party’s outspoken member with some Ghanaians regarding him as the most honest politician in the country.
Despite several controversies surrounding the Member of Parliament, he has had enormous support from civilians and party members to contest the presidential seat.
According to many, this contest will be competitive and may even breed events that will hinder the party’s mission to ‘break the eight’ as has been their ultimate goal.
The economic management team’s (led by the Vice President, a potential candidate ) inability to salvage the economic crisis in the country can only be a barrier to the realization of victory. Most Ghanaians blame the Vice President for the Cedi’s depreciation and failing macroeconomic policies that were aimed at resolving these economic challenges.
NPP supporters deemed Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten popularly known as Alan Cash, the best option for candidacy in the October 2022 report released.
According to the report, Bawumia’s decline in rating during the survey ‘coincides’ with the country’s poor economic situation.
“A new opinion poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics for October 2022 shows the Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen (AKK) continues to expand his lead over his closest rival Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB) in the race to lead the NPP as the country’s economic crisis deepens.
The poll shows AKK is the preferred candidate of general voters to lead the NPP in 2024. AKK now leads DMB, 44% to 31%. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP (KOA) came third with 14% of the votes”, a summary of the report revealed.
Survey is a good picture of what will unfold in the future but can’t always reflect actual happenings in the future, the future can only give us the true picture of itself.
