The intense battle for flagbearership unfolded among four prominent contenders: Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Agriculture Minister Owusu Afriyie Akoto, MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and former MP for Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh.

As the polls came to a close, Dr. Bawumia emerged victorious with a staggering 61.43% of the total votes, securing a significant lead over his rivals. Kennedy Agyapong, the closest competitor, garnered 37.41% of the votes.
