Mikel Arteta’s ‘young’ team trashed Liverpool in a 3-2 win to go on top of the table in the English Premier League.
The opener occurred within the first minute by Gabriel Martinelli leading the game to a heated contest and a response from Darwin Nunez made it 1-1. Bukayo gave the Gunners the lead right before half time making it 2-1 in favour of Arsenal.
Few minutes into the second half saw an equalizer from Roberto Firmino and the game continued in the super-thrilling contest as all sides demonstrated willingness and readiness to clinch victory.
Then came Saka who buried the game with the winner for the Gunners from a penalty kick. This is the second time Arsenal has beaten Liverpool in their last 15 Premier league game against Liverpool headed by Jurgen Klopp.
The penalty however will be reviewed by the Football Association due to certain confrontations on the pitch.
“We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Arsenal and Liverpool. We are in dialogue with the match officials and will review the details of the incident,” Football Association spokesperson said.
Arsenal coach in a conference after the match commented on the penalty kick and disagreed with the decision to review the penalty. “It was an incident that happened. Whatever happens on that pitch stays on that pitch.” Arteta said.
