Dan Kwaku Yeboah, a member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) responsible for the 2023 African Games, has disclosed that effective Tuesday, March 12, 2024, there will be free ticket for the 2023 African Games in Ghana for spectators with the exception of VIP tickets
spectators will be granted free access to all events except for VIP tickets. This unexpected move aims to increase spectator turnout and foster a more inclusive environment for the 29 disciplines featured in the 2023 African Games.
The decision follows revelations made by Abdul Majeed Bawa, the Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority, indicating that certain competitions within the 2023 African Games will not require tickets for admission; they will be open to spectators free of charge. This strategic shift in ticketing policy reflects the organizers’ commitment to maximizing attendance and promoting widespread participation in the prestigious sporting event.
The 2023 African Games, slated to take place in Ghana from March 8 to March 23, 2024, anticipate the participation of 13,000 individuals, including 5,000 athletes, across various disciplines. With this move towards inclusive access, the organizers aim to encourage broader community engagement and enthusiasm for the games, fostering a spirit of unity and celebration among participants and spectators alike
