Ghana Football Association (GFA) Hints of a Search for a New Black Stars’ Coach.

In the wake of Chris Hughton’s dismissal from the coaching post for the Black Stars following Ghana’s disappointing performance at AFCON 2023, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has embarked on a strategic roadmap to recruit a new coach.

The GFA’s recent announcement delineates a comprehensive plan to handpick a new coach for the national team.

A quintet of distinguished individuals has been entrusted with the pivotal task of spearheading the quest for the next Black Stars coach. Leading the charge as the chairperson is Mark Addo, the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association.

Alongside him, a panel comprising legal luminary Ace Ankomah (Esq.), Director of Coaching Education Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, Ghanaian football icon Opoku Nti, and William Caesar Kartey, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, forms the nucleus of the search committee.

Tasked with a succinct timeline, the search committee aims to meticulously assess potential candidates and propose a nominee to the Executive Council for ratification within three weeks. This deliberate process underscores the GFA’s commitment to selecting a coach who embodies the vision and ethos of Ghanaian football.

Amidst the fervor surrounding the quest for a new coach, the GFA is poised to unveil a detailed job description outlining the requisite qualifications and attributes for the coveted role of the Black Stars’ head coach.

While the comprehensive job profile is forthcoming, a preliminary outline delineates key criteria that underscore the caliber of coach sought by the GFA.
