Yohuno, a seasoned law enforcement officer, brings more than three decades of service to his new role. His career highlights include a promotion to Commissioner of Police in 2016 and notable recognition for his efforts in combating organized crime in Ghana in 2011.

Prior to this appointment, Yohuno served as Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations under the previous administration, a position recommended by the Police Council for his outstanding credentials and commitment. His appointment, formalized under Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution, underscores Mahama’s trust in Yohuno’s ability to enhance public safety and streamline police operations nationwide.

President Mahama, a transformative leader known for his focus on strengthening Ghana’s justice system, emphasized Yohuno’s role in driving modernization within the police service.
