A 33-year-old Mobile Money vendor and foreign currency exchanger named Japhet Yeboah was shot in the head and killed at his shop in the Nkrankwanta lorry station in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region yesterday evening.

According to eyewitness reports, the assailants arrived in a private vehicle, posing as customers interested in exchanging money. As the transaction unfolded, the situation took a deadly turn when the robbers suddenly drew weapons and demanded that Yeboah hand over all his cash. A struggle ensued, during which the attackers shot him at close range, killing him instantly before making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
Local authorities and the Ghana Police Service have since launched an investigation into the incident, with security operatives intensifying efforts to track down the culprits. Residents have called for increased police presence in the area to curb the rising incidents of armed robbery targeting mobile money vendors and small business owners.
