Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia receives order of star award from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia reaped the prestigious Order of Star of Ghana award during the 2024 Ghana National Honours and Awards ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre yesterday.

The National Honours and Awards is a national ceremony that honours citizens and individuals for their outstanding contributions to various disciplines of national development. The ceremony is aimed at celebrating the excellence, sacrifice and national service of Ghanaians whose efforts and hardwork have impacted all, serving as an array of light for others to follow.
The Order of Star Award which was presented to the Vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is to acknowledge his exemplary leadership and enormous contribution in transforming Ghana’s digital landscape to help modernise the economy for the betterment of all. He is known to be a firm advocate for peace and religious tolerance which encourages inclusivity. It is with this that the honorary award of the Order of Star of Ghana was bestowed on him.
Notwithstanding, spotlight was thrown on other distinguished Ghanaians including government officials, public figures, civil servants and professionals who have contributed to the progress of their various fields.
Additionally, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of acknowledging the hardwork of individuals as they transcend boundaries to put the nation’s interest first and are worthy of emulation. He urged Ghanaians to put in collective efforts in building the better Ghana we want as citizens.
