CCTV footage released shows armed robbers robbing KK Gold buying agency in Tarkwa, Western region of Ghana at gun point
In the gory incident, the robbers were fully armed with backpacks entered the shop causing fear to the shop attendant and some customers.
Reports indicate that the robbers made away with valuables including gold weighing 408.5 grams worth Six Hundred and Thirteen Thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢613,000.00) and an undisclosed amount of money in their operation.
The workers and customers were asked to lie down while the robbers operated in apparent show of stealing some valuables from them.
They searched for gold and eventually went for a sack believed to be full of money which was dragged out of the shop.
The stolen according to reports contains cash amount of three hundred and ninety-seven thousand, one hundred and ninety cedis (GH¢397,190), and gold weighing 4.7 grams.
Consequently, some arrests have been made in connection with the robbery as the Tarkwa Police Command disclosed three names in the arrest which include Samuel Amaeshi, a Togolese, 47 years, Ezekiel Stephen, Nigerian, 45 years and Fataw Awudu, Ghanaian, 42 years.
The Inspector General of Police, in the past couple of days assured the nation to rid it of from all criminals to reaffirm the trust civilians have in the police service.
