The Ghana Police Service has refuted trending reports insinuating that the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare has been removed from his role as the IGP.
The press release dated June 30, 2024 emphatically debunked such media reports that have been trending in many media reportage.
The reports which suggested that the IGP has reportedly been asked to proceed on leave and to hand over his duties to his second-in-command, Christian Tetteh Yohuno came to light following incessant criticism of the President’s handling of individuals who many believe could be impediments to the ruling government’s efforts to rig the general elections.
Excerpts of the press release signed by the Director of Public Affairs, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi urged the general public to “disregard this fake news and treat same with the contempt it deserves”
