GH¢75,000 Fees per Participant: 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage for Ghanaians

Hajj Pilgrims to pay GHC75,000.00 for 2024 Hajj

As preparations for the 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage gain momentum, prospective Ghanaian pilgrims eyeing Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are met with the announcement of a set fee of GH¢75,000.

This fee, consistent with last year’s fare, reflects the ongoing commitment of the Hajj Board to facilitate a smooth and organized experience for all participants.

The anticipation is high, with over 4,000 Ghanaians expected to embark on the sacred pilgrimage this year. The announcement was made during a news conference held at the Hajj Village in Accra, where the Chairman of the Board, Ben Abdallah Banda, addressed the media. He emphasized the board’s dedication to ensuring that the pilgrimage remains an accessible and well-coordinated endeavor for all participants.

One key detail highlighted by Abdallah Banda is the deadline for payment, set for mid-March. This deadline serves as a crucial milestone for those intending to partake in the spiritual journey, underlining the importance of timely arrangements and contributions. As the preparations unfold, the Hajj Board aims to streamline the process, fostering a sense of unity and reverence among the Ghanaian pilgrims embarking on this significant religious journey.

At a news conference at the Hajj Village in Accra, Ben Abdallah Banda, Board Chariman reiterated that all activities will be seamless. He further mentioned that the deadline for making payment is mid-March this year.

When the package was announced last year, we did say that we would maintain the same cost irrespective of whether the Cedi loses its value against the dollar or not. Today, we are happy to announce that we are making good on our promise. The gaps that have obviously cropped up in costing the package will not be borne by the pilgrims.

Given the timeline to Hajj and the activities such as the presentation of passports to the board, issuance of visas, and the preparation of flight schedules to and fro, the deadline for the payment of the Hajj fare is mid-March 2024. – Mr. Abdallah Banda
