In an exclusive exposé, shocking details have emerged regarding the alleged embezzlement of millions from the home of Cecilia Dapaah, the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour

Two individuals, Patience Botwe (18 years old) and Sarah Agyei (30 years old), are currently facing charges for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts at the residence of Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour.

The thefts occurred between July and October 2022 at their home in Abelemkpe, Accra, and involved significant sums of money in different currencies, including US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghana Cedis. In addition to the monetary theft, the accused allegedly stole clothes, handbags, perfumes, and jewelry from the residence.

In addition, Ms. Botwe faces accusations of stealing six pieces of Kente cloth valued at GH¢90,000 and six sets of men’s suits worth US$3,000, which belong to the minister’s husband.

Furthermore, the case involves three other individuals, identified as Ms. Botwe’s current and former boyfriends, as well as her father, who are also facing charges for their alleged involvement in the crime. They have been respectively charged with dishonestly receiving GH¢1 million, GH¢180,000, and GH¢50,000.

Patience Botwe and Sarah Agyei are facing charges related to conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing. Along with the two house helps, three other individuals have been charged with dishonestly receiving stolen money in connection with the case.

During interrogation, Ms. Botwe implicated Sarah as her accomplice. Thus, when they were working together in the complainants’ house, Ms. Botwe used to keep watch at the main gate to enable Sarah to enter the couple’s room to steal, after which they shared the spoil.

Sarah was arrested at Budumburam and during investigation, it came to light that she used her portion of the stolen money to build the 3-bedroom house where she was arrested.

The case is set to continue on August 2, 2023. As the investigations are still ongoing, Patience Botwe and her alleged associates have been remanded into custody, while Sarah Agyei has been granted bail
