A Ghanaian woman who traveled to Canada for her studies now finds herself in a dire situation, eight months pregnant and homeless on the streets of Toronto as she cries for support through a compatriot called Maame Pokuah.
Her story has come to light thanks to Maame Pokuah, a fellow Ghanaian resident in Toronto, who has been raising awareness and calling for assistance from the Ghanaian community.
According to Maame Pokuah, the woman was initially staying with some church members after arriving in Canada. However, she became pregnant and concealed the pregnancy for several months. Once the church members discovered her condition, they evicted her, leaving her without shelter or support. Now stranded and alone, she faces the daunting challenge of surviving on the streets while nearing the end of her pregnancy.
The woman, overwhelmed by her situation, has reportedly been contemplating suicide due to the hardships she has endured. She is urgently seeking temporary accommodation from Ghanaians, especially those in Canada, so she can safely deliver her baby and then return to Ghana. Her plea for help highlights the importance of community support during such critical times.
