The National Service person, Deborah Seyram Adablah who sued First Atlantic bank CFO Mr. Kwasi Nimako for sex harassment has been ordered by High Court in Accra to serve lawyers of the Bank with their written submissions
Background of the First Atlantic bank CFO and Side-Chick Case
During the court’s adjudication on January 24, First Atlantic Bank requested that its name be withdrawn from the lawsuit filed by Deborah.
First Atlantic Bank further highlighted certain paragraphs of the writ be dismissed “on the ground that they disclose no reasonable cause of action against the applicant”.
The paragraphs under contention include paragraphs 7,8,9,10,11,31,32,33,34,36 and 37 point in the writ accussing the bank of condoning acts alleged to have female workers being harassed sexually by senior male officers of the bank.
Subsequently the Court presided by Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu on February 16, instructed the parties to file their written submission for the court to take a decision.
Court proceedings on Thursday, March 23, 2023, Mr. Mohammed Atta, lawyer for the plaintiff told the court that they fid their due diligence by filing their written submission on March 21 as directed by the court.
Lawyer for the first Respondent Ama Opoku Amponsah informed the court that they intend to file a supplementary affidavit to their submissions after confirming being served with the written submissions by the plaintiff as an application to file a supplementary affidavit to their earlier one was opposed by the plaintiffs.
Lawyers for the second respondent, First Atlantic Bank on the other hand informed the court at they have not been served.
The case was consequently adjourned to April 6, 2023 following the court’s order for the plaintiff and his lawyers to serve the bank with the written submission.
