Family head Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, affectionately nicknamed “Tupac,” addressed this in an emotional explanation spoken in Twi. He revealed that the decision stemmed directly from Daddy Lumba’s personal wishes expressed before his passing, a directive unanimously supported by the musician’s wife, children, and sisters.
Abusuapanin Tupac emphasized that the late icon had explicitly instructed against an open-casket viewing, stating it aligned with his private preferences for a dignified farewell. “This was his own desire, confirmed by those closest to him—his wife, his children, and his sisters—and it stands firm without alteration,” he shared.
