This cutting-edge vehicle, part of BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang, promises to rival high-end models from industry titans like Ferrari. The introduction of the U9 marks a significant milestone for BYD, which launched its luxury brand just last year and has since introduced two other vehicles to the market.
According to BYD, the U9 electric supercar boasts impressive performance metrics, including a top speed of 309.19 kilometers per hour (192.12 miles per hour) and acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.36 seconds. These specifications put the U9 in direct competition with established supercar brands like Ferrari, whose renowned hybrid SF90 Stradale model boasts similar acceleration capabilities.
The U9 is poised to disrupt the electric car market with a starting price of 1.68 million Chinese Yuan ($233,424). With deliveries scheduled to commence in the summer, BYD aims to capture the attention of discerning consumers seeking high-performance electric vehicles. The unveiling of the U9 underscores BYD’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry, signaling a new era of competition in the realm of electric supercars.
