In distressing news, a 75-year-old woman from Colorado lost her life, and two others were hospitalized following the sinking of a double-decker tour boat near Blue Lagoon Island in the Bahamas, as reported by various sources
In a video on X (formerly Twitter) posted by GhanaTrends captured the chaotic scene, with the rescue team trying to rescue people out of the gory situation. The footage showed people, wearing life vests, reacting with fear and some resorting to jumping into the water as the boat listed to one side.
Kelly Schissel, a passenger on deck, recounting the incident in subsequent videos, mentioned that the ferry was close to reaching the island but not yet near the shore. She speculated that the captain’s attempt to execute a playful maneuver, whipping the boat’s end around while turning into the Blue Lagoon area, might have led to the tragic event.
Amidst the confusion, passengers on the top deck, including Schissel, heard signs of distress below. Water began entering the boat, prompting panic among those on board. Despite the alarming situation, Schissel claimed that the tour boat staff failed to provide guidance to the frightened passengers, as they were reportedly overwhelmed by their own panic.
