Ghana: Dumsor is Back, ECG to Issue Load Shedding Timetable on Friday, 31st March 2023

ghana dumsor is back, ecg to issue load shedding timetable on friday, 31st march 2023

The Electricity Company of Ghana is to publish a load shedding (Dumsor) timetable on Friday, March 31, 2023 due to maintenance works at Atuabo Gas Processing Plant by Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC)

According to the ECG, this load shedding is for a brief period to enable GNGC to perform the necessary maintenance as gas supply for power generation has been affected.

According to the ECG, the outages will last until Friday April 7, 2023 across the country.

Consequently, there will be a generation capacity shortfall amounting to an average of 150 megawatts. This will reduce total power supply for distribution by ECG until Friday 7th April, 2023.

In this regard, there will be minimal interruption in power supply to some ECG customers.

ECG will therefore issue an outage timetable by Friday, 31st March, to inform customers accordingly.
