nduom school of business and technology (nsbt) celebrates inaugural graduation gifting each student $1,000

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom School of Business and Technology (NSBT) recently commemorated its first-ever graduation and third matriculation ceremony at its Ayensudo campus gifting each student $1,000.

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the visionary behind NSBT, upheld his commitment to the institution’s pioneering students by granting each of the initial eight graduates a monetary award of $1,000 to help them establish their own small enterprises after school.

During the ceremony, Dr. Nduom expressed his gratitude and recognition for the dedication of the inaugural cohort, emphasizing the significance of their role in shaping the school’s early years. The gesture of financial support was a tangible demonstration of his appreciation for their commitment to academic excellence and perseverance.

Beyond the generous cash award, the event marked a milestone for NSBT, celebrating the graduation of its first cohort of 25 students and the enrollment of an additional 90 individuals into the academic community. Among the graduating class were notable achievements, including distinctions in various academic honors, reflecting the diversity of talents and achievements fostered within the institution.

Excerpt of the Speech Delivered by Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom

Dr. Nduom explained that his original intention was to provide the students with seed money to start small businesses while still studying. However, this plan was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of you graduates may recall that I made a promise to the first eight students who came here to start our institution. And that promise was to give you some money as capital to start a business while you are here on campus. That did not happen, so today after you receive your degree, each one of you, the eight students, will receive $1000 in cash,” he stated at the graduation ceremony.

I don’t want you to use the money for drinking and eating, but to find productive measures to start a business or invest the money for the future.

As the first batch of alumni, we are asking you to keep us close because we will work with you to ensure that you move on to productive employment and have a great life experience, he said.
