Odorgonno SHS students in Accra protest for safer streets following a fatal accident on the streets they used on daily basis.
They expressed concerns over safety, citing the tragic loss of a staff member’s life due to faulty signals. With vehicles frequently speeding near the school’s entrance, students fear that more accidents could happen if the issues are not addressed by the government.

The protest caused a temporary disruption in traffic as the students called for prompt action from the government to fix the problem and ensure the safety of everyone in the area.
In a video that captured the students, one said ” I am a day student, my life is at risk every single day. Do you want me to cross the road and die? A young girl like me, my education will be at stake, my family is counting on me. I can’t die.” She further urged the government to fix the traffic lights and streetlights to secure the lives of pedestrians.
