Dr Hassan Ayariga, the presidential candidate for the All People’s Congress (APC), has pledged has pledged to pay Ghanaians every two weeks and to introduce a 24-hour economy if elected.

This is according to him will boost Ghana’s labor force and productivity. In a recent video posted by GHOne TV on X, Ayariga outlined several key economic reforms his government would prioritize to improve workers’ compensation and increase financial stability.

A key component of Ayariga’s plan is restructuring the salary payment system, transitioning from monthly to bi-weekly pay. “Under my government, Ghanaians will be paid every two weeks,” he stated, stressing the importance of more frequent payments to improve financial access for workers.

In addition to payment frequency changes, Ayariga has committed to raising both the minimum and entry-level public sector salaries. He proposed increasing the minimum wage from GH¢18.99 to a range of GH¢150 to GH¢300. Furthermore, he promised to establish a starting monthly public salary of at least GH¢5,000 to better support workers.

These proposed changes, Ayariga emphasized, are central to his party’s vision of a fair and inclusive economy, ensuring that Ghanaian workers receive timely and enhanced compensation to meet their financial needs.
