An International Research and data firm, Fitch Solutions has predicted a whooping 54% victory in the upcoming general elections for John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress

The London-based research and data firm attributed the victory the current economic conditions on the country including the unemployment rate which has skyrocketed under the ruling political  party.

In its latest survey, Fitch mentioned that the results skewed in favour of John Mahama of the NDC with 54% of respondents making the former president John Mahama winner in the upcoming presidential election.

Fitch Solutions is notably known for its  consistency and credibility with its forecast. The NDC has welcomed the prediction and the flagbearer has said party leaders must ensure that tertiary level individuals be given priority in the upcoming elections to secure a strong win.

The NPP on the other hand has disregarded the prediction adding that Ghanaians prefer Dr Bawumia and the NPP over John Mahama.

Fitch Solutions Ghana Elections Prediction: Mike Kruiniger’s Remarks

Associate Director of Country Risk at Fitch Solutions, Mike Kruiniger explained the survey results;

We believe that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a stronger chance of winning the upcoming general elections compared to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In addition, multiple surveys have shown that economic management and job creation are going to be the most important issues during the election for voters which we believe will put the ruling NPP at a disadvantage given the economic challenges that the country has faced over the last couple of years.

Recent polls consistently place the NDC ahead with the most recent survey showing 54% of respondents favouring the NDC, he remarked.
