Former Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, and key member of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Sherry Hanny Ayittey, has passed away
The sad news was announced by Nii Kofi Ayittey of Akwetey Nanta of Osu Alata, head of the family.
Dr. Sherry Ayittey was a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and held various key positions within the party.
Dr Sherry Ayittey was a founder member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), rising to become a National Vice Chairperson in 2018.
She served as the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology in 2009 under President John Evans Atta Mills’ government. Later, in 2013, she was appointed as the Minister of Health by President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
Following the NDC’s departure from power in 2016, she contested and won the National Vice Chairperson position in the party.
Throughout her career, she played a significant role in the government and the NDC, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to her country
