Born on January 22, 1985, in Somanya, Ghana, Samuel Nartey George spent his formative years in Ahwiam, Old Ningo. He pursued his academic aspirations with determination, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering with a specialization in Soil and Water Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Additionally, he holds a law degree from the University of London and completed an Executive Masters in Conflict, Peace, and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping and Training Center. His academic journey underscores his commitment to learning and acquiring the skills necessary to drive positive change in his community and beyond.
Sam George’s Political Era
Samuel Nartey George’s In 2015, contested for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency seat in the National Democratic Congress primary elections, defeating the incumbent E. T. Mensah, who had held the position since 1996, with 4,910 votes representing 53.4% of total votes while Mensah polled 2,831 representing 38.5%. In the 2020 parliamentary elections, George was re-elected as the member of parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, winning with 23,860 votes representing 63% of the total votes cast.
His remarkable leadership qualities and political astuteness have earned him widespread acclaim, solidifying his status as a beacon of hope for the people of Ghana. Sam George’s Recent Advocacy
George is currently a member of both the Public Accounts Committee and the Communications Committee. George is known for his anti-LGBTI views and has described homosexuality as a “perversion”. In 2021, he proposed a law criminalizing homosexuality and many forms of LGBTI support and activism, even medical support.
