Brighton and Zambian football star has been compelled to retire at the age of 24 following his heart condition.

The player has a hereditary heart condition, and the Premier League club has disclosed that the player will suffer a cardiac arrest if he does not stop playing. “Enock Mwepu will have an extremely high risk of suffering a potentially fatal cardiac event if he continues to play” says the Premier League club.

The player recently has had some struggles with his health when he  fell sick on a trip with his national team Zambia to Mali.

He could not train as well when upon arriving in West Africa last month and was hospitalized for four days.

After his return to England, the player did a series of medical tests and his team concluded that the results only point to the fact that the player needs to retire to avert any unfortunate event in the near future.

 Enoch explained that he is saddened by the decision to retire as he fought hard to realize his dream to play in the Premier League however certain dreams end too, he said.

“This is, however, not the end of my involvement in football, I plan to stay involved in some capacity,” he said on Twitter.
