Former Ghanaian footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey has shared a poignant moment of his past that prevented him from making a life-altering decision following the revelation about the paternity problem of his supposed children with his ex-wife.
In an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Lamptey recounted his immediate reaction upon receiving the DNA test results, which confirmed he was not the biological father of the children he had raised.
Lamptey admitted that his initial response was one of intense anger and despair, leading him to consider taking a drastic action with a gun.
However, in the heat of the moment, he paused and reflected on the potential consequences of such an action. This moment of sober reflection helped him realize that resorting to violence was not the right path.
Ultimately, Lamptey concluded that using the gun would have only worsened his situation, marking a pivotal point in how he chose to handle the crisis.
His decision to refrain from violence became a crucial turning point, allowing him to navigate through the emotional turmoil with a clearer perspective on life and its challenges.

When the issue happened, I wanted to use my gun. It was in my Tundra, but I decided I would not do anything to jeopardize my life, so I did not use it.
I was broken, but I was very patient about it, and that has led me to where I am today.
I believe it was God who spoke to me, and so I decided not to use my gun. It used to be in my Tundra, but I decided not to touch the gun again,
I strongly believe that as a man, you need to marry your job. When the issue happened to me, when I come here, I listen to some of the recordings I did on my phone.
If you don’t get close to your job, you’ll lose your job and also lose the other things that you focused on, he said.
