The Ghana Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has less than 24 hours to name his final 26-man Squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 contest.
It is required for team coaches to unveil their 26-man sifted from a provisional squad.
The Ghana Football Association released a 55-man provisional squad last week and is expected to cut down the number to 26.
Ghanaians are expectant of the head coach, Otto Addo to name a strong squad for the tournament today, Monday, 14th November. The Black Stars coach and technical team are expected to ultimately announce the final squad at 11:00 AM at the Multichoice Office in Accra.
Unfortunately for the team, some senior players have been ruled out of the tournament due to injury, thus Richard Ofori, Jojo Wollacott, and Baba Iddrisu.
Some players on the other hand have been called to the team, including Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Ibrahim
Danlad.Otto Addo, had previously made certain omissions from the Squad, dropping Schlupp, Afena Gyan and Ashimeru from his list last week. Joseph Paintsil was also removed from the list.
Exclusion of these players from the squad raised eyebrows as some Ghanaians believed these affected players were promising enough to be maintained in the squad.
Many Ghanaians and ex-players believe the Ghana Black Stars have a chance of reaching the Semifinals and possibly bring the World Cup home.
