President of Ghana, Akufo Addo, has appointed Commissioner of Police (COP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations.
This new appointment has sparked mixed reactions and conversations among Ghanaians and political analysts. Many have questioned this appointment by the President as the general elections inch closer.
Others have attributed it to the alleged plot to remove the current IGP Dampare following leaked tape that suggested that the current IGP’s stay in office will hinder the New Patriotic Party’s chances of winning the general elections.
