One of the striking features of the ceremony was the appearance of the Executioner, known in Akan tradition as Obrafour. Long steeped in mystery and oral history, the role is often believed to symbolize power and spiritual enforcement within the kingdom, with many associating it with ancient practices performed during funerals and traditional festivals.

Also present was Nana Nyarko Aboraa Sika III, Paramount Queen Mother of the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area, widely admired as one of Ghana’s most graceful and beautiful queen mothers. Her presence underscored the unity of queen mothers across the Ashanti kingdom during such an important cultural event.

Adding a touch of humor to the otherwise solemn occasion, a fetish priest—whom Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya once jokingly called his lookalike was seen performing incantations and spiritual rites in honor of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The blend of tradition, spirituality, and royal authority highlighted the deep cultural significance of the Asantehemaa’s passing, reminding Ghanaians of the powerful heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom.
