Richard Jakpa, the third accused person has said the WhatsApp messages sent to Attorney General Godfred Dame had been altered.
According Mr. Jakpa, the move seeks to misrepresent the fact and skew the evidence in favour of the Attorney-General, Godfred Dame.
The ongoing ambulance procurement trial in court on Thursday, June 20, sparked some dramatic moments leading to Richard Jakpa’s declaration of war on the Attorney General.
Mr. Jakpa alleged that the WhatsApp messages presented by the Attorney-General as evidence were not original and had been tampered with during cross-examination, led by Director of Public Prosecutions, Yvonne Atakora Obuobisa,
He argued that the content had been altered to misrepresent his communications, thereby distorting the truth of his interactions with the AG.
Private legal practitioners have opined that the substantive case before the court may not be necessarily impacted by some trivial legal issues such as the declaration of war by the third accused person however such issues may warrant criminal charges in other criminal context
