The wife of John Kumah, the late Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu has responded to Captain Smart’s poisoning rumours circulating out there and has refuted such claims.
Apostle Lilian Kumah has clarified that her husband bravely battled a severe illness for over a year, ultimately succumbing to the terminal disease on Thursday, 7 March 2024. She emphasized that the illness was discovered by doctors in Germany nearly a year ago, marking the true cause of his passing.
Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, also the General Overseer of Disciples of Christ Ministries, urged individuals engaging in speculation regarding her husband’s cause of death to cease their conjecture as it hurts her and these claims are untrue.
In a poignant and grief-stricken appeal, she express the distress inflicted upon her immediate family and the broader Kumah family by baseless rumours purported by Captain Smart and has called for sensitivity and empathy and respect and understanding during this difficult time.
“Why is it that someone (referring to Captain Smart) has been this bold to claim that he knows for a fact that a person like John Kumah who has served his country virtually all his life, was poisoned, while he was working for his country and party (New Patriotic Party, NPP), why should we sit down and not bring that person to book.
Comments Made by the Wife of John Kumah Regarding Captain Smart’s Poisoning Rumours
If it is true that a person who is not dead but alive claims that he knows how my husband (John Kumah) died and that he was poisoned, and that person is still moving around for the past three weeks, it hurts me, it saddens me and I do not know how best to express my frustrations about these false claims by Captain Smart, she said.
Additionally, Apostle Kumah called for swift police intervention against individuals, including Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, who have propagated unverified claims regarding her husband’s demise. She underscored the necessity of evidence and accountability, urging for responsible discourse and actions in the wake of John Kumah’s passing.
If there are laws in this country concerning such false claims, I think this is the time for the leadership of the land to bring that wicked person (Captain Smart) to book to prove his false claims and to point out the persons who were involved in the poisoning of my late husband, Mrs. Kumah mentioned.
