Israel swiftly addressed a recent social media post from Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, where she expressed solidarity with Palestinians and called for an immediate ceasefire and justice
Thunberg, a prominent environmental advocate, shared her message on X, formerly known as Twitter, urging global support for Palestinians and affected civilians.
GRETA THUNBERG’S POST SUPPORTING PALESTINIANS WHICH WAS LATER DELETED
Thunberg’s original post featured an image of her alongside three other activists holding signs advocating for Palestinian freedom and climate justice. However, the post was deleted due to concerns about an unintentionally perceived antisemitic symbol—a blue octopus with a frowning face on one of the activist’s legs. Thunberg later reposted a nearly identical photo, this time with the controversial element removed.
The environmental advocate posted and then deleted the ‘Free Palestine’ ‘STAND WITH GAZA’ post after pushback, stating; “I was completely unaware”
ISRAEL’S POST IN RESPONSE TO GRETA THUNBERG’S POST
In response to Thunberg’s post, Israel’s official X account, managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promptly replied with a decisive message. The exchange unfolded within an hour of Thunberg’s updated tweet, emphasizing the intensity of the diplomatic discourse on social media.
@GretaThunberg, Hamas doesn’t use sustainable materials for their rockets which have BUTCHERED innocent Israelis. The victims of the Hamas massacre could have been your friends. Speak up,” Israel posted.
