Road tolls to be reintroduced by Government in 2025 according Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam who made this announcement in the 2024 Mid-Year Budget.
His announcement has come as a shock to Ghanaians following government’s abolishment of the road tolls in the year 2021.
The Finance Minister also mentioned that the government has okayed for the development of a structure for the reimplementation of road and bridge tolls in 2025 to see to a robust collection of the tolls and to prevent leakages in that income stream.
The Finance Minister hinted that government has approved an additional GH¢1.5 billion for settling unresolved claims associated with financial management companies.

Mr. Speaker, Cabinet has also granted approval for the disbursement of an additional 1.5 billion Ghana Cedis to settle outstanding claims relating to the financial management companies; the establishment of a framework for the re-introduction of Road and Bridge Tolls in 2025,
He also mentioned that the government has approved “the operationalisation of the integrated property tax system; and the amendment of the Fiscal Responsibility Act and reinstate the numeric threshold that was suspended in 2020, the Finance Minister remarked.
