The Ghana Football Association (GFA) are unveiling ex-Ireland international, Chris Hughton as head coach of Ghana Black Stars at the SG Mall in Kumasi today.
This follows former head coach Otto Addo who led the team to the Qatar Fifa World Cup 2022 but resigned immediately after the team exited the tournament.
New head coach, Chris Hughton’s contract as the Black Stars manager will span untill December 2024.
Chris previously occupied the position of a technical advisor, under then-head, Otto Addo but was later announced as Black Stars head coach in February this year.
He undoubtedly earned the top role as the head coach as his technical know-how played a significant part of the team’s success in qualifying for the 2022 Qatar World Cup following the team’s struggles with the coach C.K. Akonnor at the time.
The FA have high expectations for the former Brighton and Hove Albion coach to excel and help the team to accomplish its ultimate goal.
Like any other head coach, Ghanaians will be willing to know how much Chris Hughton will be earning as head coach of the Black Stars and the Ghana Football Association are expected to outline the team’s plan, the coach’s squad and training schedules and other relevant information to the public and football fans.
