The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in Oguaa (Cape Coast) for a historic visit to the coastal traditional area during Oguaa Fetu Afahye in Cape Coast.
His visit follows an invitation from the Oguaa Traditional Council, where he will serve as the guest speaker at the Grand Durbar of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024. This year’s festival holds special significance as it marks the 60th anniversary of one of the Central Region’s most prominent cultural events.
The Asantehene’s journey to Oguaa, documented in videos shared by Royal Palace Multimedia, highlighted the grandeur of the event. His departure from the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi was met with fanfare, and upon arrival, he was warmly received at the Emintsimadze Palace on Thursday, September 6, 2024. The visit underscores the strong cultural ties between the Asante Kingdom and other traditional areas in Ghana.
As always, the Asantehene’s departure from Kumasi was a grand affair, with a convoy of over 10 Land Cruisers, accompanied by additional vehicles. The convoy was led by three police motorcades, ensuring a regal and secure journey to Cape Coast, reflecting the importance of this historic event.
