energy minister dr. matthew opoku prempeh insists there won't be dumsor timetable

Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has insisted that there will not Dumsor timetable and that President Nana Akufo-Addo’s power crisis is far better than comparing with the previous government under John Mahama.

Despite ongoing power challenges, Dr. Prempeh asserts that the current administration has made significant strides in improving the sector’s overall performance despite current blackouts across the country.

In recent weeks, several regions in Ghana, notably in Greater Accra, have experienced recurrent power outages, sparking frustration among residents directed towards the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). These outages have disrupted daily routines for businesses and individuals alike, underscoring the pressing need for effective solutions to mitigate their impact on the populace.

Calls for ECG to establish a structured load-shedding schedule to facilitate daily planning have intensified amidst the ongoing power crisis. However, ECG has maintained its stance that there is no official “dumsor” and has resisted the implementation of a formal timetable. This reluctance has fuelled further discontent among citizens seeking predictability and reliability in their electricity supply.

In an interview on CitiTV, the Energy Minister was seen refuting claims that Dumsor is back and calls for timetable would mitigate the effects on people’s daily routine as Ghanaians can plan along with the timetable.
